It can be challenging when a coworker, friend, or family member comes down with an illness. One of the many ways we can show them that we care is by sending them a good get well soon card. It may be hard to believe that one might require a lesson on how to write a get well soon card, however, it is an art form that has its dos and don’ts. 

It’s not always easy to find the right words to comfort your loved ones, you might even get well soon card end up coming off as insensitive. This article aims to point out the things you need to know to write a good get well soon card. 

Open With a Warm Greeting

A warm greeting paves the way for the other contents of the card, it opens the heart of the recipient and makes them eager to read more. So, you should always have a “dear” in hand for this purpose.

So, you can offer to bring them food or go on a grocery run for them now that they’re unable to do so by themselves. 

  • “For now, let somebody else do all the doing. I’d love to bring over some meals, for starters.”
  • “I’m here for you. For whatever. For as long as you need.”

Warm Closing Remark

As you get to the last section of your writing, it is important to end on a perfect note. Ending a get well soon card with the right closing remark is like the crescendo at the end of an orchestra’s performance. 

A good closing remark will keep the recipient of your card long after they’ve read it. It may even be the one thing they remember for years to come. Your closing remark can be something anything from “Best wishes as you recover,” to “Love always,”.

You can also incorporate some additional get-well-soon messages into your closing remark. For example, 

  • “Get better and get back to your amazing self soon!”
  • “Warmest wishes for a speedy recovery!”
  • “Take extra good care
