Dr Cletus Georges – Why This Should be a Year of Good Health

Most of us have had a very difficult 12 months indeed and whilst this virus may not yet have disappeared, we can all begin to look towards that light at the end of the tunnel. Vaccinations are going very well indeed and it won’t be long before life does actually get back to normal. We have seen some brilliant medical professionals in the last 12 months sharing advice, people like the brilliant Dr Cletus Georges who I have followed closely. The narrative now however is changing, and the conversation is not how you can look after yourself during the pandemic, but rather looking ahead and understanding just how important your health is.

Mental Health Issues

Given what we have all been through these last 12 months there is no doubt that we are not all just going to be able to launch ourselves back into the world as if nothing had happened. Even when it comes to socializing we all have to be aware of our mental wellbeing and how we can best look after ourselves. What we can learn from the last year is the importance of mental welling and finding ways to make sure that we are at our best.

Illness Prevention

It is true that this virus didn’t discriminate and that those who got it weren’t of a particular race or health status. With this being said we can see quite clearly that those who got it worse, were those who were in bad health and those who were overweight. This should be a lesson to us all that we have to make sure that we are doing all that we can to stay in good shape and to take care of our bodies. Even if we get a vaccine against this particular virus, we cannot assume that there are no illnesses out there which can cause us harm. The reality is that if we are in the best physical health that we can be, we are going to give ourselves the very best chance to be in perfect health for a longer period of time.

Taking For Granted

It is very possible that we all realized over the last 12 months just how many things we took for granted before the lockdown hit. This is very much the case for those people who were out of shape, and who all of a sudden had no real access to exercising. Now that the world is once again opening up it is absolutely essential that we take the opportunities which we have, that we recognize the importance of exercise and that we get out there and do it.

The last 12 months has been horrible, we have been deprived of our freedoms and so much more. Now that we begin to open back up however, it is more important than ever before that we recognize just how important our health is, and that we do all we can to be better.
